Career at Mahindra Powertrain

Grow With Us

Mahindra's organization as a federation of exceptional companies affords you an incredible breadth of experience and opportunity. Most Mahindra employees spend time in multiple capacities in diverse sectors, and a few take advantage of our global presence to live and work abroad. We encourage our employees to rotate across several sectors to broaden their skill sets and explore their interests. And in turn, we benefit from your understanding of the big picture of our operations, goals, and business climate.

In addition to the programs run by each Mahindra company, we have several Group-wide training and career development initiatives. First, we've created a robust Talent Management system to attract, nurture and promote employees. We continuously identify and review our need for business leaders at various levels across the Group, mapping succession patterns in the short term and over the next 3-5 years. Our Employee Personal Development Plan provides a snapshot of each employee's past and current performance and future potential. These EPDPs are continuously reviewed by Talent Councils to match capabilities with opportunities.

We offer our employees training in both hard and soft skills at the Mahindra Institute of Quality in Nasik, Maharashtra. Our intensive residential programs develop employees' ability to drive innovation and meet the challenges of the next step in their careers.

Finally, each year we select a high-talent pool of young managers under the age of 35 to form Shadow Boards across our key businesses. We invite them to strategize as though they were leading the business, developing new ideas to present to senior management. Several of these ideas have been implemented, leading to a major acquisition and the development of alternate lines of business. The Shadow Boards build relationships between young talent and senior executives, develop analytical and presentation skills, and energize lateral thinking.
